Verona

by Julius on September 8th, 2010

It was a bit of a shock when someone pointed out that I hadn’t been back since I wrote my Verona guide seven years ago. It’s certainly overdue an update, though the timing of that project has become uncertain again. But I went anyway last week, partly for research for the forthcoming edition of Footprint’s European Short Breaks guide, partly to clean out those dusty Veronese corners of my mind and my portfolio.

And I found some good new places, and some old ones I’d missed last time – an amazing organic gelateria on Piazza San Zeno, Enoteca Segreta, Osteria a la Carrega, Osteria ai Portegheti – and met friends I hadn’t seen in years.
